I have just recently found out that my
good buddy "Buzz" has died of a heart attack from some
mutual friends. Never made it to "60". A sad day for me.
Buzz Bodin, Richard Soloman, and myself, Erik Provensen,
were inseparable during the 1950s, now Richard and "Buzz"
are both gone. I received this information from Mr. and Mrs.
Soloman who now live in Las Vegas in a retirement community.
Mr. and Mrs. Bodin (now both deceased) were Buzz's parents.
Buzz's full name was David Allen Bodin, and I believed he
died either last year or the year before, but not sure. Buzz
was a Viet Nam vet, and very traumatized by the events in
'Nam. I really haven't been much in touch with him over the
years. I knew he worked in the film industry, but in what
capacity I have forgotten. [webmaster's note: I found a
David Bodin was "rigging best boy grip" for the 1991 film
"The Doors", and "best boy grip" in the 2000 film
"Memento"] I am getting tired of losing friends.those
were great years growing up, and I am saddened that one by

The information I received by our mutual friend's
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Soloman was incorrect; Buzz called
me and said the info was, as Mark Twain once said, "the news
of my demise has been a bit exaggerated".....we had a long
conversation. Buzz is alive and well, father of twin boys,
and an older son, and happily married..........I am
sooooooooohappy that Buzz is still with us.......known him

got back to it to sign on. One of those ads from
Classmates.com reminded me to check it again. It's so
interesting to read bits of peoples' lives. After twenty
years in the furniture business, Dave and I sold out and
slowed down in l993. Now we have a little neighborhood pizza
place two blocks from our home. Dave also loves to sell old
car stuff, etc. on ebay and we love to collect
California plein air art. My brother Dennis (class of
'63) lives a mile from me. Barbara Smith Leyba (class of
'64) and I have combined lists of friends for a charity
Christmas party for the last two years. I correspond with
Janice Buck Fox (class of '64) and Sue (Caroline) Timberlake
Passeneau (class of '64). Otherwise I'm out of touch with
the CV days. Lots of memories are triggered by reading of
classmates and teachers from long ago. I've been blessed
with a wonderful husband, family and friends. My step-kids
are happily marr! ied to people we dearly love, my daughter
attends USF with next semester at American University in
Washington, DC, and my son just graduated from high school.
Enduring the loss of several loved ones this last year has
reminded me to treasure our shared time. A short summary of
our life status doesn't reflect many of the struggles, but
it does bring into focus just "how good it is."

Reunion: After graduation I served four years in the Air
Force during the Vietnam conflict, stationed in Texas, Ohio,
and Taiwan. Although my duty assignment was a military
accounting specialist, I spent most of my time playing
fastpitch softball for my squadron and the Base Teams. After
my military committment I returned to school and earned a
degree in optics, spending the next twenty years in the
optical industry, mainly as a licensed optician in
California. I have always had an interest in wood working
and doing home projects so while working as an assistant
store manager for Pearle Vision, I answered an ad as a
delivery driver for an electrical contractor. I was hired,
and over the next few years went from driver,
laborer/apprentice, purchasing agent, and project manager
for multi-million dollar construction projects. This
experience led me to establish Cole Enterprises about five
years ago, providing contractor related products and
services for accounting, estimating, project management, and
job costing.
Other than adding a few pounds and losing hair (ear hair
excluded), life is good.
I spend as much time as I can with my two four-legged
children Flash and Bo (Brittany Spaniels) pheasant, chukker,
or quail hunting.
Comments: I would like to thank all of the members of the
reunion committee for all of their dedication and hard work
for the many years they have given of themselves. I would
also like to take time to remember all of those classmates
who gave their lives serving in the armed forces and to also
thank those that sacrificed greatly protesting the
war.

sabbatical, I had been teaching for 11 years at the

My husband sold his dental practice before our sailing trip
and this year and now, 5 years later is restarting it. My
daughter, Michele just got married at my mother's family
beach house in Laie Hawaii and our son, Kai is now a senior
