Comments: I missed the reunion because my family was
performing in the Actor's Cabaret of Eugene (Oregon)
presentation of Evita at the Hult Center. The musical
theater bug has bit our whole family. My daughter has severe
arthritis and is wheelchair bound but Actor's Cabaret made
the stage accessable for her. Even though ACE is deemed
community theater, we have been visited by Tony award
winning producers and recently Anthony Rapp chose our
theater for his book signing. Who would have thought that
quiet Margaret from CVHS would get a chance to play Vicky
Nichols in Full Monty, Mrs. Fezziwig in A
Christmas Carol and I just got cast as Mrs. Taylor in
Batboy? I am thankful to be a part of the Arts in a
community known for the Arts. It has done miracles for not
only my daughter, who was chosen as the Hult's SHO
performing arts student of March, 2006 but my son as well,
who just played the lead in Lane Community College's
presentation in Kiss Me Kate. My husband recently
performed the role of Dickinson in 1776 and Marley in
A Christmas Carol. I am thankful that I stuck with
Miss Nute's strict discipline because it has helped me. I
think of people from CV from time to time. I am sorry I

Comments: It's great being home, loving my kids as they
grow. The 40's have had their share of surprises, but
Mid-Life definitely rocks! Sure enjoyed the 30th. Karen,
Beth, Lisa and I checked in to a hotel in Old Towne Pasadena
two days beforehand with our favorite 70s music, old photo
albums, wine and good eats. We retold stories, filled in the
blanks, got caught up and shared more secrets. The old
pictures were really great to see! We talked with a lot of
classmates on the phone, and even got some of them to come
to the reunion at the last minute. We ate at Old Towne's
finest, shopped and carried on until the Sat. evening event,
which I have to say, was the best reunion yet. Great turn
out, great music and dancing (thanks Manny), and lots of
beautiful, mature, loving people. Really got a charge off
the whole thing, which is hard to take for a tender-hearted
introvert like me. Thanks everyone for a great evening. It
was a perfect marriage of the past to the present. I'm

Derek Hermans
Derek passed away on April 2, 2008, in Davis,
California after battling his demons for many years. While
he and I were almost complete opposites and lived apart for
many years, we could always pick up a previous conversation
from where we had left off. Derek taught me some of the
finer points of defense when playing water polo including
many so called "dirty tricks" that he had to use to make up
for his lack of speed. He often spoke of how he wasted his
years at CV and wished he could have the time back. Fear
not, he is at peace now.

Steven was killed on August 24, 2000. He
was married for more than 20 years, and is survived by his
wife Dora Lilian (Flores) Kraut, and four children, Karen
